"I was thrilled with the dental treatment, it was all over in approximately 1.5 hours and the lady dentist was professional, caring and explained the steps along the way. I would thoroughly recommend her to any of your patients.
The Botox treatment I received was all done with great care and professionalism and I am sure I shall return for a top up in due course."
Ms. Cathy Sage
I would be delighted to recommend your practice most highly. I particularly appreciate Kate, your wonderful hygienist, the best one I've ever met. She is extremely personable and very thorough, always taking time to explain how I can improve my brushing technique. The other very happy customers are my children Morgan (5) and Rosie (3) who both came to you for their check up. You managed to keep Morgan's full attention and enthusiasm for 25 minutes while you did a very comprehensive examination and had a chat with him about cleaning his teeth. I appreciated how you warned him what was coming e.g. trying out the cold air blast on his hand first. I could tell that you have kids of your own. Rosie had never been to a dentist before but sat perfectly for you - again, all credit to you. They left with stickers and certificates beaming with pride. Keep up the amazing work.

I would recommend the Ethicare Dental Practice to friends and colleagues for its very friendly service and highly professional treatment.
Miss Catherine Beck
During my initial visit to your clinic in Feb 09, I found your clinic to be so clean, bright and modern - well gone are the days where we all dread going to the dentist - especially after seeing the great technology used! I was well treated during my consultations - friendly staff and most informative, taking time to answer all my questions.
I actually received a reminder on my mobile yesterday to book in for a check-up soon: What an excellent way to remind me - keeping up with technology!
Mrs. Lisa Hawkins
Ethicare has given me both a beautiful smile and fantastic service. Both doctors on staff are extremely professional and take great pride in their work. The practice prides itself on being in touch with the latest technology and having at hand. The admin team is always courteous and friendly. Just the thing you need when nerves are playing up before going into the dentists chair. Well done and a big thanks to you all at Ethicare!

Good hygiene is the cornerstone of avoiding dental disease and treatment. The two main causes of tooth loss are decay and gum problems. Keeping bacterial levels low is therefore vital. The dentists and dental hygienists will work together to formulate a regimen that is appropriate for you. Again it is not always necessary to have a clean every 6 months, the interval should be tailored to your particular requirements.
People often ask us what will happen during the hygiene appointment. This will be different for each individual since the hygienist will follow a tailored prescription created by the referring dentist. At the moment patients cannot see the hygienists without a proper prescription by the dentist. If you want to continue to see your own dentist for general check ups but would like to see our hygienists we will need a suitable prescription. The prescription form can be printed out and given to your dentist.
The hygienist will monitor the condition of your gums. They will give you the appropriate oral hygiene advice and instruction as well as dietary advice. They will clean with and ultrasonic scaling device and remove the tartar deposits that you cannot remove yourself with manual scalors. They can give local anaesthetic so that there is no sensitivity associated with the procedure. They can use the prophyflex air abrasion system to gently remove areas of stubborn staining. They will advise regarding the appropriate recall period of attendance along with your dentist.
Alastair Lomax - Dental hygienist
Before entering into the dental field I gained a BSc Hons in Psychology from Dundee University in 2005. In January 2007 I then embarked on the two and half year clinical training course to become a Dental Hygienist/Therapist at the Greater Manchester School for Dental Care Professionals.
Having graduated in March 2009 I then decided to build not only on my clinical practice, working within general practice but also to use my previous experience of research to become a Research Hygienist.
In April 2009 I moved to London to take a position at the Unit of Periodontology, at the Eastman Clinical Investigation Centre based at the Eastman Dental Hospital, London. It is here I work as Research Hygienist on a part-time basis.
I also hold a position at King's College London School of Dental Hygiene and Therapy as a part-time Dental Hygiene/Therapy tutor.

I am originally from the sunny City of Liverpool and though I spend the majority of my time in London, my love is still with Liverpool F.C but don't let that put you off me!
